Testimonials

"My son has been receiving therapy from Jamie Levine at OT Ventures for only 2 months and we have seen so many positive changes in him. We initially sought out Jamie’s help after a teacher suggested he needed extra help with writing and fine motor skills. After Jamie thoroughly evaluated him, it was noted that he was behind in some gross motor skills as well.

After just two sessions, Patrick’s teachers were amazed at the improvement in his grasp! He stopped fighting us when we would ask him to do his “homework.” He looks forward to writing his name and coloring now, and is proud to show us that he can do it.

Patrick was challenged in the areas of balance and motor planning as well. He never liked going to soccer on the weekends because he felt clumsy. He didn’t really play with other kids at recess because they were faster and more athletic. We are amazed at the difference in him. Now he is always asking if we can go to soccer. He is getting faster and has much more control over the ball, etc. He is truly enjoying life so much more now.

These are too small examples of the change in Patrick since starting to work with Jamie. The biggest (and most important to us) is his increased confidence! It is amazing to see your son, who never really wanted to play with other kids, look forward to group activities and playing with friends at school. He is not the best or fastest, but he fits right in and feels like he belongs now.

Jamie has just done wonders for our son, and we will be forever thankful. Her thoughtful approach and ability to make therapy fun is incredible. Now, the only thing he likes more than soccer is going to Miss Jamie’s!"

"I would highly recommend OT Ventures for many reasons.

Jamie Levine is a wonderful therapist who is patient and calm with my daughter who can be a handful at times.  She works on multiple areas of my daughter needs throughout the session while making it fun and rewarding for her.  My daughter gets so excited to go there.  She addresses handwriting, gross and fine motor, balance, among many other things.

Jamie is not only great at working with and assessing my 7-year-old daughter, but she has also helped me understand many of my daughters unexplained behaviors.  I knew next to nothing about sensory needs and how they effect in the body.  Jamie has helped me to realize that a sensory diet (doesn't involve food), can help regulate the amount of sensory input that my daughter gets, so it becomes a steady stream throughout the day.  This in turn helps behaviors such as, teeth grinding, hitting and scratching others, licking, melt downs, s.  As well as, focus.  This is a perspective that I didn't learn anywhere else that has made a huge difference for my daughter and my family.  I only wish I had this insight when my boys were little.  It would have helped me realize that sensory issues can affect all kids not just ones with down syndrome,  Autism and such.  It explains why my boys didn't like crowds and birthday parties.  They wanted to enjoy a friend's party or a carnival but couldn't."

"My son and I first met Jamie in 2013 when my son was 6 years old. Since that time he has done private OT sessions, social skills groups,  summer camps and swim lessons with Jamie at OT Ventures. My son had tried various group and private swim lessons with no success over 2 years. After 5 consecutive swim lessons last summer with Jamie over 5 days, he was swimming independently and underwater!

All services provided have been excellent and enriching. I've seen so many gains in my son with his sensory and social issues under her care and services. His confidence improved as well.

Jamie is patient, consistent, fun and up to date on current therapies and treatments.  My son has been to many camps over the years,  and her camp is the only camp that he has ever thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end."

"Two of my children have come to OT Ventures for treatment over the years.  My daughter experienced relatively mild delays in gross and fine motor skills, which we noticed as she entered kindergarten. She worked with Ms. Jamie for several months to strengthen her skills, and she was actually quite disappointed when she "graduated" and still remembered the sessions fondly years later!

My son has been coming to OT Ventures for a year, and we are so happy with his progress so far! Ms. Jamie creates a calm and enjoyable environment in which my son thrives.  Her clear and positive attitude is great.

When Ms. Jamie first tested our son, she recommended that we seek additional support through the county.  During meetings, the county occupational therapists were impressed with the thoroughness and detail of the testing Ms. Jamie provided.  While my son has grown and developed through his weekly therapy sessions, Ms. Jamie has also provided me with many tools to strengthen my understanding of his issues and my ability to support his development at home.   My son has blossomed in his physical strength, body awareness, and confidence.  Through additional OT Ventures programs such as summer camp and social skills classes, he has been able to experience an ever-widening circle of physical and social activities which he enjoys in a low-stress, familiar environment. We are so thankful to have such a wonderful occupational therapist on our team!"
